no more pickles?

we all know that My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Nine Pickles, right? right??? not anymore. i guess she just serves us Nine now? Noodles? Nuts? Naan? Nothing? not that Nine Pickles was an especially excellent thing for her to serve, but it just isn’t the same.

i do, of course, commend those astronomy dudes for making a really big decision based on scientific evidence rather than “because that’s the way it’s always been” or “because we feel like it” or “because pluto…it’s just cute.” i mean, if we’re going to let pluto into the solar system, we’d have to let every tiny barren rock that moves in what can barely be called an orbit in. and THEN what would mom be serving? hmm…?

speaking of decision-making based on scientific evidence, the FDA apparently learned something from those astronomers. about damn time. not perfect, but it’s a start, at least. i’m sure it had nothing to with politics.
